Mr. Saleem is a Board Member, Advisor and C-level Executive with 30+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, turnaround & restructuring, operations management and advisory services across a broad spectrum of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, education, retail, automotive, technology, construction, real estate and diversified family conglomerates.
Prior to co-founding Maven Investment Partners, Mr. Saleem worked as Group CFO & Chief Transformation Officer at one of the largest family conglomerates in UAE. He has also held the position of Group CFO of Depa PLC (dual-listed on London’s AIM Exchange and NASDAQ Dubai), where he successfully led the implementation of operational and financial turnaround plan across 23 countries. He has also held leadership roles at Alvarez & Marsal, IBM, Oracle, Majid Al Futtaim Group and PwC.
Mr. Saleem has extensive international and regional Board and Board Committees experience, including being a Board and Audit Committee member of a Singapore listed business. He is currently serving as an independent member or advisor on several Boards and Board Committees of regulated and private entities in KSA and UAE.
Mr. Saleem is also a Senior Advisor at Roland Berger, a global consulting firm with 3,000 consultants across 50+ offices in 30 countries.
Mr. Saleem is a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
Shivendra Singh
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Mr. Singh has 25+ years of investment banking and finance experience, both in New York City and MENA.
Mr. Singh has advised numerous high-profile clients on mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, debt financings and equity private placement transactions.
Mr. Singh has extensive knowledge of the Saudi market with 15+ years of corporate finance transaction experience in KSA. Prior to co-founding Maven Investment Partners, Mr. Singh was Head of Private Equity and Corporate Finance at Wasatah Capital in Riyadh, KSA. Prior to Wasatah Capital, Mr. Singh was Head of Corporate Finance and Deputy Managing Director of Rasmala Investments KSA.
Mr. Singh has also held senior finance positions at Bear Stearns, JP Morgan, Jefferies Group and Arthur Andersen, all in New York City.
Mr. Singh holds an MBA from Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Binghamton University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He is also a CPA holder.
Murtaza Chevel CPA, CA
Senior Advisor
Mr. Chevel has 30+ years’ global experience in corporate finance, debt restructuring and turnaround, strategy, business process transformation, market and financial feasibility, investor relations and family office succession planning.
Prior to joining Maven, he advised family businesses in Canada and the United States on corporate finance, succession and exit strategies, debt restructuring, and estate and trust planning.
Mr. Chevel was the Group CFO of two high profile listed companies in the UAE, namely Dubai Investments PJSC and Union Properties PJSC. He also worked as Group CFO of Palm Utilities, a group entity of Dubai World, in the district cooling and water desalination sectors, working on IPO readiness and various Public-Private-Partnership options.
He has held various board, investment, and audit committee positions over the years, including advisory positions at start-up incubators.
Mr. Chevel qualified as a Canadian Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in Toronto, Canada, led their Lead Advisory practice for Health Sciences across Canada in 2000-2001, managed Ernst & Young Dubai’s Management Consulting and Corporate Finance practices, and served as the Middle East’s Valuations Service Line Leader from 2001 to 2003.
